Copper Formazan Blue of 4-Sulfo Anthranilic Acid (CFA) is a chemical compound that is formed by the reaction of copper ions with 4-sulfo anthranilic acid. It is a blue powder that is used as a reagent in the determination of copper ions in solution. The copper ions react with the 4-sulfo anthranilic acid to form the blue CFA. The intensity of the blue color is directly proportional to the amount of copper ions present in the sample being tested. It is also used as a stain in histology, and as an indicator in analytical chemistry.
